Lonesome is the sky, Lonesome is the ridge; Lonesome is the tower, Lonesome is the habour. Lonesome is the man, Lonesome is the flag; Lonesome is the scene, Lonesome is the country.
I am myself not comprehensive of what a Baptist Church really is. So, I looked for it on Wikipedia, and this is what I summarize:
Baptist Church (whose members are called Baptists) emphasizes a believer is only geniune after s/he is baptized, and the baptism is only performed after that person has established a basic understanding of Christianity and begun a life to follow Jesus Christ.
There is no central governing body in the Baptist Church (unlike the Pope of the Catholic Church and the Presiding Bioship of the Episcopal Church), so each Baptist Church somehow differs in the ways they do things. There are, however, documents that state the true faith of the Baptist Church, and each church is expected to follow those.
The following acrostic backronym, spelling BAPTIST, is used by some Baptist churches as a summary of Baptists' distinguishing beliefs:
Biblical authority Autonomy of the local church Priesthood of all believers Two ordinances (baptism and communion) Individual soul liberty Separation of Church and State Two offices of the church (pastor and deacon)
