The demolition of the House of Liberty

The House of Liberty (自由之家) is an unoccupied hotel in the Kaohsiung neighborhood where I live. It has been unoccupied for some twenty years and therefore has become more of a ruin; however, it was a ruin that people in the neighborhood have got used to; it was a ruin that had accompanied people in the neighborhood in their ups and downs; it was a ruin that had become part of the people. Everybody in the neighborhood expects its demolition some day, but nobody really expected its demolition on the day.
